Qianzhen (Annie) Fu

My most admired artist Qichang Dong, a 17th century towering figure in Chinese art history once said, "By reading thousands of books, travelling thousands of miles, hills and valley can be composed out of instinct." Since I read his words from a very young age, I have carried on his romantic legacy forward by going out as far as I can. When applying for college, I decided to study abroad in the US and take in the allure and culture of a new land. I also spent a summer in Tokyo, Japan to experience another style of education and way of life. This time, I am going to study in Heidelberg, Germany. Although I have plenty of experience being abroad, staying in a new place will always invite new challenges and difficult situations. I am looking forward to seeing how I may deal with them.
